The Oak Clinic was established in Killaloe, by Gideon Seth Ries & Paula Seth in 2002, where it has thrived, attracting patients by word of mouth from all over Ireland to their waterside location on the banks of Lough Derg where it meets the River Shannon. The Oak Clinic is a family-orientated Complementary Medicine Clinic that maintains friendly relations with GP’s and other Health Professionals.

Gideon graduated in 1992 from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine after completing a full-time medical training of 4 years. He is registered with the Osteopathic Council of Ireland,  the regulatory body for Osteopaths. He is recognised by the major Health Insurance companies.

Gideon has been in full time practice, as an Osteopath for over 25 years, treating people of all ages, from new born babies to seniors. He specialises in ‘difficult to treat’ conditions in children and adults, often receiving referrals from other health professionals, osteopaths and cranio-sacral therapists. He has a busy paediatric practice with many referrals and recommendations from health professionals, patients and parents for Cranial Osteopathy for children.

Gideon is also a Licensed Acupuncturist, graduating with distinction from the College of Traditional  Chinese Medicine and Medical Acupuncture, in Co Clare. His acupuncture clinic is growing as word spreads and as well as treating adults, he uses modified acupuncture techniques with babies and children.

He is a Naturopath, bringing a holistic approach to helping his patients heal more completely. In 1992, Gideon was accepted as a member of the Register of Naturopaths, UK. He likes to integrate his knowledge of nutrition, supplements, exercises and lifestyle advice into his osteopathy, cranial osteopathy and acupuncture treatments.

He has lived in Co Clare for 16 years with his wife Paula and teenage son.

After over a decade teaching drama and women’s studies in schools and universities in the UK, Paula moved to Ireland and undertook the four year education in homeopathy at the Burren School, Co. Galway. On gaining her licence to practice, Paula then began the process of training and clinical supervision to become a fully registered member of the Irish Homeopathic Society. Committed to ongoing professional development she has travelled to India and throughout Europe to attend seminars by many of the world’s most renowned homeopaths.
In 2010 Paula completed one of the few homeopathic MSc programmes in the world at The University of Central Lancashire for which she obtained a distinction. Her dissertation was on an aspect of the Homeopathic Treatment of Eating Disorders. Paula has had a long interest in working with this client group and their families.
Establishing good health involves treating both mind and body. Her research during the MSc on the importance in Homeopathy of the therapeutic relationship has led Paula to develop her skills and knowledge and she specialises in Homeopathic Counselling. Paula incorporates the latest research into her practice and emphasises natural healing and a balanced diet and lifestyle.
